El-Mada newspaper accuses the American embassy of isolation

In a long editorial piece the newspaper accused US embassy in Iraq of isolation and lack of awareness of trends in Iraqi society.
“The Americans are interfering in the Iraqi-Iraqi negotiations to form a new government, they want to draw a scenario for the future of Iraq even if it is against what Iraqis see as their best choice for the future”,The editor said.
The writer admits that his country is not totally independent because American troops are not leaving Iraq before the end of next year, however this doesn’t mean that US can control Iraq future to be in the favor of its allies in the Arab world.
The paper in this editorial tries to refer to the American concern that Iraq might have a government that supports Iran.

Bush has no regrets


A news story about President George W. Bush’ new book “Decision points” that will be released on Wednesday.
The story highlights Bush’s shock when he discovered that Iraq didn’t has weapons of mass destruction .. “No one was shocked or angry as I was … however America and Iraq are now in a much better condition in the absence of Saddam Hussien”.

Lawyer: we can’t sue American troops for Wikileaks revelations


The legal Iraqi expert Tareq Harb said that U.S. forces cannot be sued through the International Criminal Tribunal for war crimes because USA has not signed the Rome Convention of 1998 concerning the establishment of the International Criminal Court.
The American troops can be sued for any violation they made after the security treaty between both the American and Iraqi governments was signed in January 2009.
The expert who was commenting on the latest documents revealed by Wikileakes urged those who want to take legal action aginst US troops to sue them in American courts.

US reconstruction team in Iraq is on the verge of delivering a $375,000 water project in Basra governorate in Iraq while it started another $ 404,000 electricity project in the same area.

Opinion, Qaeda uses Iraq as a front line against the west


The Iraqi writer Hazem Mobydeen analyzed Al-Qaeda attack over a Christian church killing 57 people and sending threats to the Christian church in Egypt.
The writer believes that Qaeda wants to target religious minorities in the middle east to force them to immigrate and to create more tensions between Islam and the west.
“Qaeda wants to create more hatred against Islam in the west so they can gain more authority in the Middle East”.
